Tips To Clean The Kitchen And Have It Always Shiny
1. Gather your supplies. Don’t underestimate the value of this step. Try to find cleaners, kitchen towels, sponges, etc. It not only consumes time but increases the risk of distractions so that you forget what you were working on in the first place.
2. Run a sink with hot, soapy water. If you have a double sink with a garbage disposal on one side, use the side without the removal. Keeping the side of the disposer free will allow you to scrape leftovers down the drain quickly as you work. The water should be as hot as you can tolerate, as it will get colder as you use it.
3. Scrap up all dishes and dispose of them in the trash or garbage disposal. If you don’t have a double sink and your disposal is blocked, scrape up the words and place them on a dirty plate.
4. Put the dishes that need to soak in the water. Choose the words that will give you or your dishwasher the most trouble to clean. Put heavily soiled dishes in the bottom. Fill large containers such as frying pans and bowls with hot, soapy water and place on the counter to soak.
5. While the dishes are soaking, stop by the kitchen and remove trash from the floor, counter, and cabinets. Don’t worry about things that are out of place or that don’t belong in the kitchen. Focus only on the garbage.

6. Move on to gather all the items that don’t belong in the kitchen. Put all these items in one basket. If you have a helper, send them to save these items. Don’t stop working in the kitchen to put these lost items back in their place.
7. Put away all items that belong in the kitchen but are not in their proper places. Don’t get distracted by rearranging cabinets, drawers, etc. Just put the things back in place.
8. Load the dishwasher or hand wash. If you don’t have a dishwasher or dislike using it, cleaning dishes can take longer. Grab a couple more people and form an assembly line to wash, rinse, dry, and put away. This is also a great way to catch up with family members. Empty the dirty water and scrape the food dish into the disposal if it was previously blocked. Add the plate to the dishwasher.
9. Wash the counter, appliances, and sink. Rinse sponges and rags. This is not heavy cleaning. Wash visible surfaces. Do not open the microwave and rub or wipe the crumbs from the toaster. Could you clean it up quickly?
10. Sweep and mop or vacuum.
11. Take out the trash. If the garbage is complete, or tomorrow is trash day, take it outside and re-line the dumpster so it’s ready for collection.
