Tips For Cleaning The Kitchen After Christmas

The Christmas season always brings with it excesses of food and drink, which are an indication that our kitchens and ovens have been working hard in recent days. Even if we carry out daily cleaning and maintenance, these are ideal dates for dirt to accumulate on our appliances. Here are some tips to leave the kitchen spotless after the Christmas holidays.

Closets First

It is advisable to begin the thorough cleaning of a kitchen with the cabinets, since dirt accumulates in them from the coming and going of food, cutlery and the smoke that accumulates in the kitchen. Thus, the ideal is to empty them and clean the inside and outside of our closets with soap and water. Although this is an action that we should repeat several times a year, after Christmas it is totally advisable.

The Microwave, The Great Forgotten

If we think about which appliances we use the most, we surely do not take into account the microwave. An appliance whose cleaning is simple and that is not always carried out like that of other appliances such as the stove or the oven. So, if you are going to start a thorough cleaning, don’t forget the microwave.

Hit The Oven Hard

The oven can become a display of smells coming from everything we have cooked in it during Christmas. The first thing we must do is remove the trays from it and put them in warm soapy water for several hours and then rub with an abrasive sponge to remove the remains. If your oven has pyrolysis or aqualysis, do not hesitate to implement these cleaning methods while you take care of the trays on the other hand. However, it is also advisable to use water, salt and baking soda to clean the inside of the oven. Never use abrasive methods with products that can damage the enamel of your oven or you will end up paying for it in the long run.

The Ceramic Hob Always Cold

The ceramic hob should always be cleaned cold and every time it has been used, as stains may end up becoming embedded. Nowadays there are countless products for cleaning glass-ceramics, although if you want to do it economically, you can use ammonia or soap to wash clothes. After letting the solution sit for an hour, you dry it with a cloth and that’s it. This way we will be able to thoroughly eliminate the accumulated bacteria.
There are other appliances that we should not leave aside, such as the refrigerator. However, if we carry out the cleaning described above, we can be satisfied. Of course, always accompanied by a good sweep and a good scrubbing of the floor that suffers so much movement. We already left the tiles for another post because we don’t want to burden you with cleaning…
