White Vinegar

Ammonia

This is better to use when the stain is really hard to remove, dissolve the ammonia in hot water and applied directly in the carpet, use gloves as it is a really strong chemical, the unmistakable ammonia smell will disappear once it will be dry.
There is as well some kind of powders especially made for clean carpets that you can spread, leave it to act for a couple of hours, and vacuum, this has the advantage that leaving a fresh smell in the area.
